Soaking in a bath containing baking soda for about 30 minutes is an old home remedy for soothing hives.

 

To obtain relief from allergy symptoms such as clogged nose and irritated mucous membranes, tea is one of the most effective home remedies. Adding peppermint to the tea will increase its effectiveness.

 

Applying ice to the sinus regions will provide instant relief and refreshment.

Sponging the affected area with cold milk for 15 minutes will help reduce and provide relief from hives.

 

To help ease allergy symptoms such as hives, sponge the affected areas with basil tea. This is prepared by boiling one ounce dried basil leaves in one quart water. Once the tea has cooled, apply to the affected areas as often as required.

 

Certain vitamins such as vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) and vitamin E posses very effective anti-allergic properties. These should be taken in doses of around 100 mg and 400 mg respectively, daily for a month.

 

It is found that five drops of castor oil in half a cup of any fruit or vegetable juice, or plain water, and taken on an empty stomach in the morning, is beneficial for allergies of the intestinal tract, skin, and nasal passages.

 

Lime is considered an effective remedy for any kind of allergy. Squeeze half a lime into a glass of lukewarm water sweetened with a teaspoon of honey and drink
