Stories, poems and the like are not just to be read but to be assimilated, absorbed and digested. Unfortunately, this is not often the case with most of us. We are so caught up with the story, tale, myth, poem, prose or any other thing that we read that we often do not ingest the message that lies in those oft beautiful lines. We gather the milestones and forget the journey.

(Though all of them were blind),
The First approached the Elephant,
Against his broad and sturdy side,
"God bless me! but the Elephant
The Second, feeling of the tusk,
So very round and smooth and sharp?
The Third approached the animal,
The squirming trunk within his hands,
"I see," quoth he, "the Elephant
The Fourth reached out an eager hand,
"What most this wondrous beast is like
"Tis clear enough the Elephant
The Fifth, who chanced to touch the ear,
Can tell what this resembles most;
Than, seizing on the swinging tail
