The Spiritual Diet

Contributed by: Sita Krishnan

Saints and their disciples do not eat meat fish eggs or any other sort of animal food for the reason that it involves slaughter of animals which means assumption of karmic debts.. this body is designed by god for HIM to reside..even a dog before it sits in a place cleans the place with its tail and make it clean and then sit..so for a god almight when HE has to inside us will not expect us to be clean? is our stomach a grave yard to bury the dead bodies?

In vegetables there is 1 active tattwa..that is water.in insects there are 2 tattwas ..agni and vayu.in birds there are 3 tattwas ..jal agni and vayu..in animals there are 4 tattwas..jal agni vayu and prithvi..but in man and in man alne all five tattwas are active akash is the last onew hch only man has..

The law is the greater the number of tattwas that are combined in the living individual the higher he is in scale of evolution and greater the responsibility involved in killing that individual.. so the greater will be the burden of karma in killing..

As man has to eat something to live the saints selected the least harmful substance ..

Secondly eating animal food hinders spiritual refinement.. this food drags the man to down towards the animal plane..and more over we must absorb the animal qualities to some extent..so animal food must not be eaten which will pull us down to the animal level..thirdly animal diet is unhealthy diet..it fills the body with impurities of uric acid, and other by products of animal -food digestion.

So we must select the purest and least harmful foods available..which means a diet of vegetables, fruits grains and nuts..and all dairy products.... ..when we plck fruits or vegetables the plants dont run to save their life whereas when a hen or cock or goat is brought to kill we know how much it quivers..when the doctor tries to put injection how much we cry..just imagine just for a pin prick we shriek..
