Sore Throat
v Mixing 10 ml of the fluid extracted from mango bark with 125 ml of water is an effective gargle in the case of sore throat.
v One teaspoon of coarsely powdered cinnamon, boiled in a glass of water with a pinch of pepper powder, and two teaspoons of honey can be taken as a medicine in the treatment of this condition. Two or three drops of cinnamon oil, mixed with a teaspoon of honey, also give immense relief.
v Two tablespoons of fenugreek seeds put in a liter of cold water and allowed to simmer for half an hour over a low flame, when cooled makes an effective gargle.
v Water boiled with basil leaves can be taken as a drink, and also used as a gargle to relieve a sore throat
v An extract of Kantakari, prepared by continuously boiling the plant in about two liters of water after washing it thoroughly is an effective gargle.
v A small piece of raw liquorice can he chewed or sucked for treating this condition.
v Tamarind water should be used as a gargle. A powder of the dry leaves and an infusion of the bark can also be used for preparation of a gargle for treating sore throat
v Melt 2-3 teaspoons of salt to one glass of water, gurgle the salty water in your throat and on the infected area.
v Cut an onion into strips, squeeze the spicy juice out, add one spoon of honey and drink right away.
v Mash one ginger root, add 1/3 cup of boiling water and one tablespoon of sugar. Drink when it's slightly warm (can use honey instead of water and eat).
v Drink tea with lemon, can also add sugar or honey.
v Blanch 2 teaspoons of fresh/ dry hyssop leaves to 3/4 cup of hot water; add 1 spoon of honey, gurgle and swallow.
v Mix 2 tablespoons of sesame oil and one tablespoon of honey. Take one spoon 3 times a day.
